Green Beans with Lemon and Garlic

  green beans -- trimmed and sliced

  olive oil

  garlic -- minced fine

  crushed red pepper flakes

  lemon zest

  lemon juice

  low sodium soy sauce

  shallot -- minced fine


Boil beans until crisp-tender about 3 to 4 minutes. Plunge into ice water to stop cooking.

Add olive oil to large frying pan and heat to medium. Add shallot and cook until soft.

Add garlic and pepper flakes and cook until fragrant about 30 seconds

Add beans, lemon zest, and soy sauce. Cook until heated through a beans are spotty browned

Add lemon juice and stir in until mixed.
