Sweet Onion Dip

1   small   sweet onion -- minced fine
16   ounces   light sour cream
1   tablespoon   low sodium Worcestershire sauce
1   teaspoon   garlic salt
1/4   teaspoon   white pepper
1/2   teaspoon   onion powder
1   tablespoon   unsalted butter

Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat and add onion. Cook 15 to 20 minutes until onions caramelized. Stir frequently to prevent scorching.

Add remaining ingredients in a container with a lid and mix well.

Cool onions and add to sour cream mixture and mix well.

Refrigerate for at least four hours to let flavors meld.

Makes 16 servings.
