San Francisco Pork Chops

 pork loin chops -- 3/4-inch thick

 olive oil

 garlic -- minced

 Sauce

1/4

 cup

 low sodium soy sauce

1/4

 cup

 red wine

 brown sugar -- packed

 crushed red pepper flakes

 water

 teaspoon

 cornstarch

Mix sauce ingredients together except for water and cornstarch. Set aside.

Add oil to large skillet and heat to medium-high. Sprinkle both sides of pork chops with salt and pepper. Cook chops until just browned on both sides and remove from pan.

Add garlic to pan and cook for 30 seconds or until fragrant.

Add sauce to pan scraping up all the browned bits. Bring to a boil.

Add chops back in and cover and cook for 30 to 35 minutes.

Remove chops from pan and tent with foil.

Mix water and cornstarch together and add to sauce. Cook until sauce thickens. Add any juices from meat back into sauce and stir.

Serve sauce over chops.


Serving Ideas : You can serve these over buttered noodles.
