| Heat oil in a frying pan. Add turmeric and ginger and cook for a few seconds or until you can smell the toasted turmeric. Add onions and stir to coat. Cook for about three minutes. |
| Add the peas, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Stir to coat. Cover and cook for about eight minutes or until tender. Stir occasionally. |
| Add rice and stir to mix thoroughly. Heat through. |
