Heat oven to 400°F. Grease muffin tins or use paper baking cups.

In large bowl mix brown sugar, egg, applesauce, molasses, and butter together.

Add dry ingredients and mix until just moistened.

Divide batter between 12 cups.

Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes clean.

Remove to cooling rack.
