Heat oven to 350°F. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together and put aside. In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. In another bowl combine egg, milk, and 1/3 cup melted butter. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix just until moistened. Lightly spray muffin cups or use paper baking cups. Fill 2/3 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Immediately dip muffins in melted butter and then cinnamon sugar mix. Makes 12 servings |
