Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, sherry, vegetable oil, and
sake in a large Ziploc bag. Add chicken and turn to coat. Let marinate for at least five hours. Thread chicken and green onions onto skewers. Pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and heat to boiling. Mix water and cornstarch to form a slurry. Add to sauce and stir until thickened. Grill or broil skewers until chicken in cooked through brushing with the marinade. Sprinkle the sesame seeds onto chicken before serving. Notes: If using wooden skewers soak in water for at least a half hour before using. Makes 6 servings. |
