Heat oven to 375º. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating until thoroughly mixed each time. Add salt, baking soda and flour and beat until mixed. Add chocolate chips and cherries and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake 9 to 11 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Makes 48 cookies |
