Cheese Straws

  unsalted butter -- softened

  cheddar cheese -- low sodium -- shredded

  salt

  cornmeal

  all-purpose flour

  paprika -- smoked

  teaspoon

  cayenne pepper

  teaspoon

  dry mustard

  teaspoon

  garlic powder


Beat butter, cheese, salt, paprika, cayenne, mustard, and garlic powder together until well blended.

Add flour and cornmeal and mix just until combined.

Chill dough for 2 hours.

Heat oven to 350F.

Roll dough until 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 1x2 Inch rectangles. Place on parchment lined baking sheets.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cool on wire racks.

Notes:  If you can find smoked paprika use it. If not regular paprika is fine.
